The museum opened in 1988 in a stunning royal ceremony in front of elite officials. Constructed in the middle of Manama and Muharraq, Bahrain National Museum takes guests on a journey through 4,000 years of Bahraini history through nine halls depicting the country’s heritage, customs and traditions, burial mounds, traditional handicrafts, ancient documents, manuscripts and Islamic period hall.
