The souks are well worth a visit, not just for shopping, but for the atmosphere. The largest souk area is in Manama, but there are also lots of interesting shopping areas, smaller malls, street shopping and other souks scattered throughout Bahrain.

Of course, Bahrain is famous for gold; it is actually one of its hallmark for having the best quality gold. Gold jewelry is available and sold by weight and bargaining is definitely common especially for those not so extravagant shoppers.
Business Hours
Government establishments are open Sundays to Thursdays from 7:00 am – 2:15 pm.
Friday and Saturday is the official weekend. Offices and banks generally open from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Most shopping centres and supermarkets open from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm all week.

Bahrain offers a gastronomic tour of the world's cuisines and you will be spoilt for choice by the wide array of international flavors and dining experiences here! The range of options available is extensive - from low-end to top-end and from standard cuisines to the downright exotic. Sipping a favorite latte or special concoction is very much an Arab tradition and one that is very much alive, so don't be surprised by the fact that new cafes are popping up around the island almost every week.
Moving Around
International and local car rental and chauffeur driven agencies have airport offices open 24 hours.
Car hire can be booked in advance vie the internet. Metered taxis are available at the airport, hotels and on the streets.
